Figure Triptych I

Layer upon layer of figure sketches build the attenuated bodies in Arvilla’s Figure Studies series. Using a stylus to delineate the forms, Arvilla abstracted the life model’s body across multiple panels and through multiple layered poses. In this archaeology of the body, Arvilla creates an obscured view of the figure ‘in the round,’ from all sides.
